Advent is a time to clear the slate from the business of life and make room in our hearts for Jesus.
He knows your every need.
He knows what you are struggling with today.
He has come to ‘set the prisoners free.’
There are prescriptions in the Bible that give us clear instruction on how to pray and how to release the Power of the Holy Spirit.
One of the ways is through the singing of hymns.
It is clearly written in the Book of Acts 16:25-26. Paul and Silas were bound in chains in a prison. The circumstances seemed hopeless, until they did this:
About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.
There is a power to singing old-fashioned hymns.
Join me on a free ‘Singing Pilgrimage’ through Advent. Sing in the comfort of your own home, in the car, with your family. We believe that any chains of oppression will break free.
